80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland

Preserving historical memory and honoring the feats of those who defended the Fatherland is a living part of the Gazprom Group’s corporate culture. Patriotic initiatives bring together employees, their families, and young people, strengthen continuity between generations, and give concrete expression to the values that define the Gazprom community.

In 2025, the year marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, also declared the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, the Gazprom Group carried out a wide-ranging program of commemorative and educational events, continuing its sustained work in historical preservation and the support of traditional values.

Employees from more than 90 Gazprom companies took part in major nationwide patriotic campaigns: Candle of Remembrance, Immortal Regiment, Victory Dictation, St. George Ribbon, and Victory Garden. Across the Group, companies organized educational projects for all ages, engaged in creative and sporting activities, and held environmental campaigns to mark the anniversary.

events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory were held across 80 regions of Gazprom’s operation in 2025

The broadest geographic reach was achieved by four Gazprom projects: the nationwide Preserving the Flame of Victory initiative, the Kindness Delivered campaign, the Memory Watch campaign, and the Homeland Is in Your Heart forum, each aimed at supporting veterans and passing moral values to the younger generation.

In addition to the major all-Russian campaigns, PJSC Gazprom’s subsidiaries and entities delivered their own anniversary projects and events. The Gazprom Group’s corporate museums play a sustained role in this work — conducting research and educational programs and documenting the fuel and energy sector’s contribution to Victory. For the 80th anniversary, they prepared themed exhibitions and transferred historically significant exhibits on loan to the Museum of Victory in Moscow.

Preserving the Flame of Victory

In 2025, PJSC Gazprom implemented the nationwide Preserving the Flame of Victory initiative, connecting memorials dedicated to the Great Patriotic War to the natural gas grid.

As a result, 189 new Eternal Flames appeared on Russia’s map, 80 of them lit simultaneously on the eve of Victory Day.

More than 100,000 people attended the ceremonial lighting events held across Russian regions: among them veterans of the Great Patriotic War and participants in the Special Military Operation, members of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, heads of regional authorities, and representatives of public and youth organizations and the media.

As of December 31, 2025, there were 1,938 memorials with Eternal Flames and Memorial Flames within the area of responsibility of Gazprom Group entities. Details are available on the Preserving the Flame of Victory online portal.

Kindness Delivered

In the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory, Gazprom Group entities held the Kindness Delivered nationwide corporate volunteering campaign, covering more than 220 localities across Russia. Around 5,400 employees from 65 Gazprom Group entities took part, providing targeted in-home assistance — cleaning, repairs, grocery and medicine delivery, and personal support — to more than 4,000 veterans, among them participants in the Great Patriotic War, former concentration camp prisoners, and home front workers. The campaign has become one of Gazprom’s most significant volunteering projects, combining care for the older generation with active preservation of memory of the Victory.

Memory Watch

Since 2013, PJSC Gazprom’s subsidiaries and entities have participated in the nationwide Memory Watch campaign, dedicated to preserving historical heritage and fostering the search movement. The Gazprom Workers’ Union coordinates the project overall; subsidiaries and entities conduct field operations, handle logistics, and liaise with regional search organizations. Alongside search work, the campaign encompasses patriotic, educational, and team-building activities, including lessons in courage, historical lectures, tactical medicine classes, and volunteering in support of the Special Military Operation.

Cumulative results of the Memory Watch campaign by PJSC Gazprom’s subsidiaries and entities (2013–2025):

  • More than 4,400 participants from more than 60 subsidiaries and entities of PJSC Gazprom
  • More than 3,300 people directly involved in search operations
  • More than 1,100 schoolchildren and students who attended patriotic educational events;
  • More than 30 patriotic, educational, and team-building events held
  • More than 1,500 sets of remains of soldiers and civilians recovered
  • More than 300 names of defenders of the Fatherland identified

Memory Watch — 2025. Shield of the Caucasus

The Memory Watch — 2025. Shield of the Caucasus campaign was held in the Stavropol Territory, dedicated to reclaiming from oblivion the names of Soviet soldiers who gave their lives for the liberation of the Fatherland. More than 90 employees from 44 subsidiaries and entities of PJSC Gazprom took part, alongside over 40 representatives of student and youth patriotic organizations. Search operations at the sites of the 1942–1943 battles yielded the remains of 41 Soviet soldiers and a collection of wartime artefacts. The campaign also included tactical medicine classes and discussions on volunteer support for military personnel. Some 140 people from across the country took part in the excavations, each gaining direct experience in search work.

Homeland Is in Your Heart

In 2025, a youth forum in the Orenburg Region brought together more than 200 participants from 26 subsidiaries and entities of PJSC Gazprom and student organizations. Organized by the Gazprom Workers’ Union, Gazprom Pererabotka, and the Gazprom Pererabotka Workers’ Union, with support from the All-Russia People’s Front, the program combined educational and sporting activities with a focus on civic responsibility and patriotic values. A particularly memorable element was meetings with Special Military Operation participants, who served as team mentors.

The accompanying program included a competition of projects dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory. 20 initiatives received support, aimed at strengthening intergenerational ties, developing the volunteer movement, and providing assistance to defenders of the Fatherland and their families.

Fakel Festival

In May 2025, the jubilee tenth edition of the Fakel corporate festival of amateur performing art teams and individual performers was held in St. Petersburg. Around 1,500 employees and their family members attended after passing competitive selection — first at subsidiary level, then at regional (semi-final) qualifying rounds.

Alongside 43 Gazprom Group companies from Russia, Belarus, Armenia, and the Kyrgyz Republic, creative delegations from CNPC, Srbijagas, and oil and gas companies of Uzbekistan participated.

For the first time, a Russian-Chinese exhibition was held at the Lakhta Center as part of the festival, showcasing artwork by children of Gazprom Group employees and works by CNPC staff.

The 2025 festival was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory and the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland. Themed events ran throughout its venues, including a performance by festival participants at the multi-specialty clinic of Kirov Military Medical Academy for wounded participants of the Special Military Operation.

Victory Dictation

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory, the International Historical and Educational Campaign Victory Dictation was held for the seventh time, opening more than 35,000 venues across Russia and in over 90 countries — at enterprises, schools, and universities.

As in previous years, employees of PJSC Gazprom and its subsidiaries and entities joined the event. For the first time, one of the venues was the PJSC Gazprom headquarters at the Lakhta Center, where veterans of armed conflicts and official representatives tested their knowledge of history alongside schoolchildren, National Guard Academy cadets, and student brigade members.

Living Letters

At Gazprom Transgaz Krasnodar, patriotic volunteering has developed into a systematic effort spanning 18 branches and thousands of employees. Among the most resonant projects of 2025 was Living Letters, which transformed employees’ family archives into a shared space of collective memory.

At its heart were real wartime letters from employees’ relatives, brought to life through archival audio recordings and neural network technologies that recreated the authentic voice of the era. A series of eight short films united more than 7,000 participants and generated more than 30,000 views on corporate platforms. The final episode, in which an employee’s daughter voiced a response from the future, became the emotional peak of an intergenerational dialogue. The project has since extended beyond the company: its materials are used in educational settings, and employees continue contributing their family stories, keeping alive a tradition that passes knowledge and experience from one generation to the next.

Arctic Route

Gazprom Dobycha Nadym undertook an expedition project that united employees around preserving the traces and testimony of the Great Patriotic War in the Arctic. In April 2025, a team of Company employees covered more than 2,000 km in 112 hours along the harsh routes of the Far North, reaching Bely Island — the site of a 1944 tragedy in which three vessels were sunk and 378 people perished, among them Red Navy sailors, polar researchers, women, and children.

Projects to restore Great Patriotic War monuments and memorials

Young employees of Gazprom Pererabotka took part in the Red Carnation campaign, organized by the public organization Fund of Generations to raise funds for Great Patriotic War veterans and Special Military Operation participants. Members of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists followed up with a plant-wide campaign at a commemorative event marking the 80th anniversary of Victory. The annual Mile of Victory run, a tradition since 2020, brought together plant employees and their families during the public holidays.

In 2025, large-scale restoration of memorials was carried out in the Tula Region with support from Gazprom Mezhregiongaz companies. Repair and landscaping works were completed on wartime monuments, including the reconstruction of the monument to Alexander Chekalin in the town of Chekalin and the Mass Grave memorials in the towns of Chekalin and Suvorov.

Employees of Gazprom Gazoraspredelenie Leningrad Region took part in the annual motor rally along the military glory sites of the Kingiseppsky District, timed to the 80th anniversary of Victory. The ceremonial start was given at the Grove of Five Hundred memorial, where a fragment of the Eternal Flame was transferred into the rally’s lamp.

In Ukhta, with support from Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta, the memorial to the city’s residents who perished in the Great Patriotic War was reconstructed, with a commemorative IS-3 Tank sign installed on the complex grounds.

Employees of Gazprom Flot, together with the Soviet Patriot volunteer team, completed a comprehensive program of landscaping and maintenance work at a mass grave of Red Army soldiers in the Vyborgsky District of the Leningrad Region.

Projects involving indigenous minorities of the North, timed to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory

In 2025, PJSC Gazprom’s subsidiaries and entities carried out a series of initiatives highlighting the contribution of indigenous minorities of the North in the Great Patriotic War.

Financial support was provided for the photo exhibition titled “The Contribution of the Indigenous Minorities of the North to Victory over Fascism during the Great Patriotic War”. Through unique archival photographs, residents of the Yamal Peninsula were introduced to the courage and resilience of their fellow countrymen at the front and in the rear, the stories of Heroes of the USSR from among indigenous minorities, and the role of reindeer transport battalions in combat operations.

At the request of the National Union of Reindeer Herders, assistance was provided in hosting one of the stages of the Arctic Relay of Victory — a patriotic campaign whose route passed through Chukotka, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Krasnoyarsk Territory, and Yamal Peninsula.
